Amanda Alejandro

Amanda is a small-town girl, born and raised in central Utah. She joined the United States Air Force straight of high school and proudly served for twenty years. She has traveled the world (mostly for fun, sometimes for work). When she retired in 2014, she decided to pursue her passions, cooking and nutrition. First, she enrolled in and graduated from The Cook Street School of Culinary Arts then she went back to college and earned her degree in Human Nutrition-Dietetics.

More than anything, she wants to share what she’s learned over the years. There is so much to explore when it comes to cooking, nutrition and travel. She loves trying new recipes and is always looking for tips & tricks that help make time in the kitchen easier. She also really enjoys recreating new cuisines that she discovers around the world. She has a massive sweet tooth, so baking is an absolute favorite of hers.

Nutrition seemed like a natural fit when she decided to go back to school. She actually looked forward to going to class because nutrition, the human body and the science behind it is just so fascinating to her. Linking the food you eat to healthier outcomes really drives her research and she loves sharing what she’s learned about different disease states and how medical nutrition therapy can really help.

Travel is Amanda’s favorite pastime and she loves connecting with and exploring places away from home. She believes that we all share this big beautiful world and there are so many cultures to discover, cuisines to enjoy and natural environments that are unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Traveling has given her such an appreciation for everything she has, especially her wonderful home in beautiful Colorado. No matter what wonders she’s experienced, it always feels so good to come back home.

She hopes you’ll enjoy this journey with her and would be thrilled to hear from you. She’d love to answer any questions, or hear any suggestions you might have. Thanks for visiting!
